Kane Creek
My go-to recreation spot near Moab! If you brought your bike, check out Captain Ahab in the Amasa Back trail system. If you brought your trad rack, the Abraxas Wall and Ice Cream Parlor have the laser cut desert splitter climbs you're hounding for. Theres also some beautiful camping spots, sight seeing, and hiking further down the canyon. Don't get me wrong: the national parks in the area are incredible, and they teach you a lot about how to enjoy these extremely special places without being more destructive than you need to be. So remember to pack out your trash, relieve yourself at the toilets if possible, and be extremely careful not vandalize any cryptobiotic soils (stay on the trail always, always, always)! Pictured is my friend Ryan on the Cliffhanger trail in the Amasa Back trail system.
