Trident United Way 2023 Day of ActionDay of Action is a Global Day of Service in partnership with United Way Worldwide that benefits and supports older adults in our community. Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in various projects throughout the Tri-County area and/or coordinate much needed senior supply drive. Below is a list of activities we need volunteers for, please contact Katherine at [email protected] to sign up or for more information. Letters to Seniors- at your convenienceVolunteers are needed to write encouraging letters/notes to home bound seniors throughout the community. Positive Posters- at your convenienceVolunteers are needed to create 5-10 posters with positive messages to display in the lobby of senior centers/nursing homes in the Tri-County Community. Supplies for Seniors- at your convenienceVolunteers are needed to help collect supplies for ARK of SC which helps support families living with Alzheimer’s Disease or Related Dementias through respite care, support groups, education, and community. development. Most needed items are: toilet paper, paper towels, antibacterial hand and dish soap, trash bags, Clorox wipes, etc. To see a full list or donate please contact [email protected]. Meal Delivery to Seniors- routes available 6/20-6/23 between 8am-2pmVolunteers are needed to help deliver meals to homebound seniors for both Charleston Area Senior Citizens and Dorchester Seniors. Kitchen Service- 6/20-6/23 from 11am-1pm312 N Laurel St, Summerville, SC 29483Help Dorchester Seniors with their meal prep and help serve lunch to seniors! Enrichment Activity- 6/20-6/23 (various times available)312 N Laurel St, Summerville, SC 29483Help Dorchester Seniors with their senior enrichment activity of the day. This may include facilitating bingo, crafts, movie events, etc. Lowcountry Food Bank- 6/23 from 1-3pm2864 Azalea Dr, North Charleston, SC 29405Help the Lowcountry Food Bank assemble senior meal kits which will be delivered to seniors in the community.
