Test your bartering skills with the locals. One of my favourite things about traveling is the chance to experience food you wouldn’t usually eat. As a bonus, the Mauritians are known for their bartering, so you have the chance to pay the price you want if you’re skills are up to scratch. At first it might seem intimidating, but you’ll soon get the hang of it and find you might enjoy it like - I did.
