Comoros
Bonjour from #COMOROS 🇰🇲 My 142nd country!! I’m assuming that 95% of you have never heard of Comoros before, or know nothing about it... So here’s what you need to know — it’s a beautiful African island-nation in the Indian Ocean, somewhere between #Madagascar, #Tanzania and #Mozambique. It very tropical and is home to the largest active volcano on earth called Mt. Karthala 🌋 The population is 820,000 and it’s 99% Muslim, which I find very unique because the culture feels very #Swahili (as opposed to #Arabic). Everyone here speaks at least 3 languages fluently - French, Comorian and Arabic (or English or Swahili). People are very kind and curious here, but are shy from the camera. Daily life is a LOT cheaper than its neighboring island nations of #Seychelles and #Mauritius. The capital of #Moroni is charming with colonial buildings, big mosques and vibrant markets. Okay that’s all for now, time to explore more!!!
