Douala
Rockin’ my new African shirt with my adopted #Cameroonian family who I’ve spent the last few days with in #Douala! 🇨🇲 I got connected with them thru social media and they’ve been SO generous and hospitable to me. They come from the English-speaking region of Cameroon, where there is conflict (civil war) happening right now, so their family members have fled to Douala to stay in their house and I’ve been sharing a room with several of them. I really hope the situations clears up for the lovely people in this country. On another note — there seems to be a negative stereotype about Africa and African people (especially in regards to #Americans...) but I want you all to know that it could not be farther from the truth. This family is a perfect example of the other families I’ve been staying with so far in each African country, and I am loving every second of this trip 🌍#BreakingStereotypes #LoveLife #Travel #Africa #Cameroon #Love #Family
