Elephant Woody
posted in Active Adventures
Woody’s Elephant Camp is a privately owned rescue for elephants in Chang Mai. All of the elephants are rescues from logging camps, or tourist attractions that did not treat them well. They offer experiences to the public to support their cause, but it is not like the touristy elephant experiences you see elsewhere. They spend a lot of the morning teaching you about the elephants and how they cafe for them. Then you learn humane commands and how to ride the elephants. When you finally get to ride them, you go up the hill, take a pit stop for the elephants to munch on some sugarcane and learn more about the sanctuary. After riding back down the hill you get to take the elephants for a swim! A very neat experience. Then before finishing up you take the elephants into the creek and give them a nice massaging scrub and play with them in the water. You can tell the animals here are well cared for, and the people who work there care deeply for them. I know we don’t rate on Rayka but if I could they would get 100 ⭐️ s
