“Tears Of the Lion” This post is dedicated to a deadly favorite of mine, Konyagi! I tried this interesting blend of gin and vodka and god only knows what else while I was in Zanzibar, and then again in Arusha and wow this shit is potent! You can buy a bottle for between 7000-15000 Tanzanian shillings which is about 3-5 US dollars.... yeah scary. Most nights we would each purchase one bottle for ourselves along with a bottle of orange Fanta to use to help ease down our many many shots. Some nights it went down better then others but it always left us with quite a few distinct memories, or maybe more blurry. Along with konyagi, I thought I’d also include photos of our favorite African beers such as Safari and of corse Kilimanjaro which my good friends were able to drink as they reached Africa’s tallest peak! Damn proud of them. Konyagi is a drink I often miss but it was the people I shared it with that made it all the much better to enjoy! * * Not sold in America but if you ever have the chance to try it please do, and bring some back for me as well 😉
