Open Boat Tours
Wherever you go in the city you will find water. Amsterdam is, of course, famous for its canals and beautiful canal houses. Take an intimate 1 hour guided tour with open boat companies such as Reederij Friendship (please avoid the large closed boats) and enjoy the view with a nice drink and chats with your local guide.

Brouwerij 't IJ
Instead of going to the Heineken Experience, I advise going to this brewery for a tasting of amazing local beers. The best part is that this brewerij is located in a proper old Dutch windmill!

Canals of Amsterdam
My best advice to get to know the city and take in its beautiful architecture is to walk around aimlessly along the canals. My favourite canals, besides the famous main canals, are the Brouwersgracht, Groenburgwal, and Leliegracht. Of course you should also check out some of the famous bridges, such as the beautiful Magere Brug.

Vondelpark
Amsterdam is an extremely green city that is packed with parks, scuh as Vondelpark and Rembrandtpark, which locals flock to as soon as the sun is shining. You should definitely join enjoy this atmosphere on a sunny day and watch people have barbecues, play games such as frisbee in the grass, walk their dogs, enjoy drinks and music, and of course smoke some joints.

NDSM
The NDSM area is located in Noord ("North"), but is easily accesible via a free ferry. This area is up and coming, as it is very stylish, full of murals, and has many great restaurants and cafes.

SkyLounge Amsterdam
Although Amsterdam barely has a skyline, due to its old age, there are a number of bars, which offer great views over the city, such as the SkyLounge and Floor 17. The best place to view Amsterdam from abover however is the swing over the dge of the ADAM Tower in Noord, which is accessible via a free ferry from Central Station.

Amsterdam
The city is considered one of the best places to party worldwide and is a favourite place to play among many famous DJ's. The variety of party options is almost endless and offers something for every taste and on almost every day of the week. Some parties run until 7am and, similarly to Berlin, some clubs even have a 24hrs licence, meaning you could for example party from Saturday evening until Monday morning. Be safe though!
