Campers get down and dirty  exploring a marsh ecosystem and tracking animals along the trail while learning about  archaeology, life in a marsh, Native Americans, and animals. Nature Trailer Summer Camps are  for ages 5 – 10 and include crafts, activities, and admission to the Dill Sanctuary from 9 am  through 12 pm.  Reservations required. Enjoy the rare  opportunity to view Eliza’s gown and some of her personal belongings. Kid Tours is a series  designed to highlight artifacts from our collection that have fascinated children for years. Kid  Tours meet every Wednesday during the months of June and July at 3:30 pm. This program  includes a tour highlighting the weekly theme and an engaging craft project or educational  activity.  FREE for Members and FREE with admission to The Charleston Museum.  Fossil Friday with the Natural History Department  June 9th, 3:30 – 4:30 pm  Join Matthew Gibson, Curator of Natural History, or Jessie Peragine, Natural History Curatorial  Assistant, on Fridays from 3:30 – 4:30 PM in the Bunting Natural History Gallery lab. They will be  on hand to share projects currently being worked on and to help identify your fossil finds.  FREE for Members and FREE with admission to The Charleston Museum.  Sweetgrass Basket Weaving Workshop with Local Artisan Sarah Edwards-Hammond June 10th, 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  Join local artisan Sarah Edwards-Hammond for in-depth instruction on sweetgrass  basketry which has been an integral part of the Lowcountry’s Gullah Geechee  community since the 17th century. Edwards-Hammond comes from a long line of basket  makers and has passed down the tradition to her family and others in the community.  She will share a brief history of the artisanal craft of basket making. Participants will  then spend the remainder of the class making their own basket guided by Edwards Hammond. Come learn about an extraordinary craft that has been a staple of culture,  art, and history in Charleston for centuries. All materials and instruction will be provided.  Space is limited. To commemorate this milestone, join us for a special highlight exhibit  showcasing 250 years of the Museum’s collection.  On June 14, 2023 Museum Members will have the exclusive opportunity to  tour America’s First Museum: 250 Years of Collecting, Preserving, and Educating Part  2 before it opens to the public. See what it takes to create a special exhibition from start  to finish! Guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at the Museum workroom as the  curators finish their final touches on Part 2 of this year-long exhibit. Then make your  way to the 250th highlights exhibit in the Historic Textiles Gallery and be the first to see  this once in a lifetime creation. America’s First Museum: 250 Years of Collecting, Preserving and Educating, Part 2 opens to the public   June 17th, 2023: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm   Commemorating two and a half centuries since its founding and spanning nearly 4.6 billion  years of history, we are pleased to present America’s First Museum: 250 Years of Collecting,  Preserving, and Educating in the Historic Textiles Gallery. This year-long exhibit will feature a  wide array of objects that tell the story of this impressive institution and its remarkable  collections.  Part two will showcase a church pew made by enslaved hands measuring 20 feet in length,  centuries old Archaic carved bone pins, a skull from the largest known flying bird and a couture  Fortuny gown.

North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center

The Best of Broadway series will host its annual  “Select Your Seat” open house party on Tuesday, June 6th, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Broadway fans are invited to come out and “select their seats” for the 2023 – 2024 season. The party features live music, complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a wine tasting, giveaways, and backstage tours. The first 100 people through the door will receive a free Mean Girls coffee mug. The party and parking are free. For fans who are unable to attend the open house party, season tickets are on sale now and available online at www.northcharlestoncoliseumpac.com or by calling the season ticket hotline at (843) 202-ARTS (2787). Single show tickets will go on sale at a later date. The national tours of HADESTOWN and SIX will make their Lowcountry premieres part of the 2023 – 2024 Best of Broadway season at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. HADESTOWN performances are January 2 – 7, 2024 and SIX performances are March 12 – 17, 2024. Each show will offer eight performances. The Best of Broadway series will welcome five additional shows including: COME FROM AWAY (October 20 – 22, 2023); PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL (December 1 – 3, 2023); MY FAIR LADY (February 9 – 11, 2024); and MEAN GIRLS (April 26 – 28, 2024). In addition, STOMP (May 10 – 11, 2024) returns as a special bonus. All performances are at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. In addition to having the same seat for all performances, Best of Broadway season ticket holders enjoy many other benefits such as free parking to season shows, priority access to tickets for North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center events before they go on public sale and special discounts & offers. Felix Cocktails et Cuisine

On the first Tuesday of every month, Parisian-inspired restaurant Félix offers a tasting menu with paired cocktails. The next dinner will take place on Tuesday, June 6th, with seatings from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. With five-courses total, each dish is accompanied by a signature Cathead Vodka-inspired cocktail, selected to highlight Félix’s curated menu.  Guests can expect the following libations to accompany their meal: Watermelon Sugar – Honeysuckle Vodka with Watermelon and Basil Shrub, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup, Soda, and Chilled Watermelon Ice Cubes Milky Chance – Bitter Orange Vodka with Clarified Milk Punch, Citrus, Tea, and Simple Syrup Sweet Caroline – Fat Washed Pecan Vodka, Demerara, Benedictine, and Bitters Not Quite an Espresso Martini – Hoodoo, Cold Brew Infused Hoodoo Chicory Liqueur, Cocchi di Torino Vermouth, Averna, and Bitters Raspberry Beret – Raspberry Vodka with Orange Juice, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup, Green Chartreuse, and Egg White The cost is $65 for the coursed meal and an additional $85 for drink pairings ($150 total).
