Lake Taupo
This lake is the largest in NZ and ringed by mountains - the lake is the caldera of the Taupo volcano. The town of Taupo is a cool back-packers paradise - very laid back. Our favorite activity was skydiving from 15,000 feet at sunset above the mountain ringed lake. Highly recommended!
