The North Charleston Arts Fest is back! Produced by the City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department, this year's event highlights regional and local artists and performers in the areas of dance, theatre, music, visual art, and literature. The Arts Fest schedule offers something for everyone, including concerts, theatre presentations, dance performances, children’s programs, workshops, demonstrations, exhibitions, and much more. The majority of festival offerings are FREE, and those that are ticketed are well worth the fee! Performances, workshops, exhibitions, and activities take place all over the City of North Charleston in a variety of venues, including community centers, businesses, and parks. Parking is free at all locations. All in-person festival events and activities will be presented with COVID-19 safety measures in place (face coverings, social distancing, etc.). Andy Frasco is the lead vocalist of the blues-rock band, Andy Frasco and the U.N. The band is known for its energetic performances and impromptu battles between band members during their live performances. Audiences are encouraged to participate in their performances, with Andy interacting with them.
Nation of Language is an indie pop quartet that was formed in 2016. Between the first three years of the band's existence (2016-2019), they only released singles; but in 2020, they released their debut album, Introduction, Presence.
Beautiful: The Carole King Musical - The jukebox musical telling the invigorating story of how Carole King became a chart-topping legend from a passionate young woman in Brooklyn. This show has won both Tony and Grammy awards since its first broadway appearance in 2013.
George Clanton is an electronic musician and singer-songwriter who is most recognized for his work in the vapor wave music scene. In 2015, he founded 100 Percent Electronica, an independent record label, and in 2019, he launched 100 percent ElectroniCON, the first vapor wave music festival.
