Felix Cocktails et Cuisine

On the first Tuesday of every month, Parisian-inspired restaurant Félix offers a tasting menu with paired cocktails. The next dinner will take place on Tuesday, June 6th, with seatings from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. With five-courses total, each dish is accompanied by a signature Cathead Vodka-inspired cocktail, selected to highlight Félix’s curated menu.  Guests can expect the following libations to accompany their meal: Watermelon Sugar – Honeysuckle Vodka with Watermelon and Basil Shrub, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup, Soda, and Chilled Watermelon Ice Cubes Milky Chance – Bitter Orange Vodka with Clarified Milk Punch, Citrus, Tea, and Simple Syrup Sweet Caroline – Fat Washed Pecan Vodka, Demerara, Benedictine, and Bitters Not Quite an Espresso Martini – Hoodoo, Cold Brew Infused Hoodoo Chicory Liqueur, Cocchi di Torino Vermouth, Averna, and Bitters Raspberry Beret – Raspberry Vodka with Orange Juice, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup, Green Chartreuse, and Egg White The cost is $65 for the coursed meal and an additional $85 for drink pairings ($150 total). Campers get down and dirty  exploring a marsh ecosystem and tracking animals along the trail while learning about  archaeology, life in a marsh, Native Americans, and animals. Nature Trailer Summer Camps are  for ages 5 – 10 and include crafts, activities, and admission to the Dill Sanctuary from 9 am  through 12 pm.  Reservations required. They will be  on hand to share projects currently being worked on and to help identify your fossil finds.  FREE for Members and FREE with admission to The Charleston Museum.  Sweetgrass Basket Weaving Workshop with Local Artisan Sarah Edwards-Hammond June 10th, 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  Join local artisan Sarah Edwards-Hammond for in-depth instruction on sweetgrass  basketry which has been an integral part of the Lowcountry’s Gullah Geechee  community since the 17th century. Edwards-Hammond comes from a long line of basket  makers and has passed down the tradition to her family and others in the community.  She will share a brief history of the artisanal craft of basket making. Participants will  then spend the remainder of the class making their own basket guided by Edwards Hammond. Come learn about an extraordinary craft that has been a staple of culture,  art, and history in Charleston for centuries. All materials and instruction will be provided.  Space is limited. America’s First Museum: 250 Years of Collecting, Preserving and Educating, Part 2 opens to the public   June 17th, 2023: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm   Commemorating two and a half centuries since its founding and spanning nearly 4.6 billion  years of history, we are pleased to present America’s First Museum: 250 Years of Collecting,  Preserving, and Educating in the Historic Textiles Gallery. This year-long exhibit will feature a  wide array of objects that tell the story of this impressive institution and its remarkable  collections.  Part two will showcase a church pew made by enslaved hands measuring 20 feet in length,  centuries old Archaic carved bone pins, a skull from the largest known flying bird and a couture  Fortuny gown.
