I suppose you could look at the Statue of Liberty from the shore but nothing beats finding yourself on Liberty Island. There is a museum which is good especially if you want to educate yourself more on the statue. *I highly recommend purchasing your tickets online and book the earliest ferry. This is a very popular attraction and you want to make sure that you enjoy your day.
