Urbino

Urbino is a medieval walled city on a sloping hillside in the Marche region of Italy. It is very centrally located in the country and easily accessible if you are travelling by car. You have to take an actual cable car up into the city because of the geography of the hill it lays on. The architecture that has remained intact is quite remarkable considering the main Palazzo Ducale began construction in 1454. If you are a history buff or want an unfiltered Italian experience, I would recommend checking out Urbino.
