Harbhajan Babaji ka Bunker

Shri Harbhajan Baba’s Temple (Bunker). Located near the Kupup Village (near Nathu La), Harbhajan Babaji’s bunker and temple is a must visit, for legend has it that babaji’s spirit still guards the borders and provides strength to our brave soldiers. The ‘Mandir’ or temple is located at an altitude of nearly 13,000 feet above the sea level and is maintained by the Indian Army. His bunker and his office inside is maintained as it is believed that his spirit still lives amongst the fellow jawans (soldiers). . . Location: Approximately a 60km hilly drive from Gangtok. The view is spectacular and it would takes 2-3 hours to reach from Gangtok depending upon the traffic. It is noteworthy that a new temple / memorial has been built for Babaji which is located at a lower altitude and in order to reach the old temple and his bunker a special permission from the Indian Army may now be required. . .
