3 Weeks in Myanmar
Next stop on our trip through Myanmar was Naypidaw, the country's official capital. However, the city is also called ghost town. This is because the city is huge, but almost no people live there. Only in 2005, the city was opened and there were built 20-lane highways, which are only used by the few cars. Calling traffic jam as a delay in Naypidaw is no smart excuse. But there are no huge hotel complexes, empty streets and government buildings in the capital. But wait, I forgot to mention the Stone Museum !!! One night is enough in the case. We could not have afforded a stay much longer because there are only expensive hotel complexes and no cheap hostels. In the hotel we bought a bus ticket to Mandalay. When booking, we were told that the journey takes only 4 hours. At the breakfast we were told that the bus ride would take 6 hours, because we will not drive the whole part of the new highway, it will certainly be a great experience.
