As soon as the first rays of sunshine appear in spring, the whole of Munich feels like a pilgrimage to the English Garden - at 375 hectares, it is one of the largest parks in the world. Here there is the Chinese Tower with its huge beer garden, the wonderful view from Monopteros, the Eisbach wave, the waterfalls near Eisbach and the Schwammerlweiher with its small island. When the weather is nice, however, the English Garden is often like the Oktoberfest and the beautiful bathing places are already completely occupied in the morning.
Personally, I prefer to go to the "Isar-Riviera" in summer. The Munich Flaucher stretches from the Brudermühlbrücke over the Tierpark to the southern side of the city border. On both sides of the river there are beautiful green areas for bathing and relaxing. In many places, pebble beaches have been piled up to make it easier to get into the water - barbecue is also permitted in marked areas. Pure holiday feeling!
