Shwarma -- Shawarma is a Middle Eastern meat dish based on the Turkish doner kebab, but the Israeli version comes in a pita pocket stuffed with fresh salad and different sauces. The meat is often seasoned marinated shavings of beef, chicken or lamb, cooked slowly to keep the juices and flavour in.
