Annual Deputy Joe Matuskovic Memorial Hockey Game - On September 8, 2014, Charleston County Sheriff's Deputy Joe Matuskovic was killed in the line of duty. His memory continues to be honored with the 9th Annual Deputy Joe Matuskovic Memorial Hockey Game. The game is scheduled for Friday, June 2, at 7pm at Carolina Ice Palace. The evening will showcase two games involving first responders and the military: The Charleston Enforcers vs. Charleston Fire and Richland Blueliners vs. Myrtle Beach Fire. The game is free to attend, but donations are greatly appreciated. The funds raised will support the families of fallen first responders and those in need of assistance.

The Lowcountry Juneteenth Week Festival is back with another star -studded affair highlighting Black Excellence with food, music & more. The week will come to a close with a star-studded weekend with live performances by GOODIE MOB Featuring CEE LO GREEN on Friday June 16th and a special concert finale Saturday June 17th. Murderous Yarns - Knitting/crocheting circle at CCPL's Main Branch. People can drop in the first Wednesday of each month between 11:00 - 12:00 with a craft project (if they have one) while we work, listen to true crime podcasts, and eat cookies.
