The ruins of Cobá are known for climbing the highest pyramid. There are about 120 steps until you arrive at the top. It is feasible but exhausting in the sweltering heat. But you will be rewarded with a great view over the jungle. The entrance to the whole area costs 70 pesos. Since the area is quite large, I would recommend you to take a bike for 50 pesos or a bicycle taxi for 120 pesos (for 2 people). The ruins can be reached by rental car or by ADO bus. Allow at least 2 hours for the visit and Climb up.

I went to go see the Coba Ruins and they were amazing. You get to scroll through what used to be the town of Coba and see their version of a basketball court. At the end of the path, you get to the climb up the 120 steps to the top and get to see an incredible view. Make sure to wear sensible shoes because the climb is no joke and can be quite dangerous.

About a 40-45 min drive outside of town. But if you're short on time and want to squeeze in a ruin trip without making the 2 hour drive to Chichen Itza, Coba will NOT dissapoint. You can rent bikes upon entering and bike the grounds at your leisure. PERK: you can still climb the tallest temple tower (Nohoch Mul) which gives you the grand view and sea horizon of Tulum!
