This is my hometown. Well I grew up in Glendale, same thing really ;). I am a BAR (Born and Raised) Angeleno and I date back from the early 70s. I have seen this city change and evolve. It has been a wild trip! One thing that I love about LA is the kick back nature of the long time locals. They are not into the hype but into the lifestyle and the food is one of the best things of LA. The beaches, mountains, shopping, Hollywood life, the different neighborhoods and ethnicities- the culture of LA is what makes it a unique and intriguing city!

This came out in promotion for Sam Smith’s new “Too Good at Goodbyes” track. My friend and I saw this in September so it’s probably not there anymore. That’s the thing with LA… These murals and pop-up displays are constantly changing. You might read about this or that today, but the next day you go to see it, it’s already gone. Flower Gypsies do partner with a lot of brands for events though. Maybe you’ll run into another one of their stunning creations next time you’re visiting LA.

Outstanding Mediterranean French restaurant in the Bevery Hills neighborhood. It's upscale perfect for date night yet relaxing perfect as a hangout spot with friends and family. The Crostinis are perfect for sharing and the marinated Lamb Chops are the best!

This is a collaboration piece between local LA artist Vyal and graffitist RISK. I couldn’t find the exact name for this mural, but I’ve decided to call it the “Watching Eyes”. The eyes are Vyal’s signature and they are meant to be watching passersby, which I guess is a genius idea because EightyTwo is sorta an arcade/bar. Gotta keep an eye out for the popo if shit goes down hahaa.

LA can be an acquired taste, but if you put in the time, it rewards you greatly. Southern Califoria culture is the best

Home to Hanna, LA has a variety of things to do. Weather its enjoying the beaches in Santa Monica/Malibu, or visiting the art museums Downtown, LA is diverse and exciting. Home to some of the best restaurants in the world the city holds as a melting pot for cultures from all over. You are bound to see some celebrity walking the streets of Hollywood or in Beverly Hills

Proximity of ocean to city to mountains is the real draw for me with LA. From sunrise hikes to all night parties, each day is different in the city of Angels.

Many flock to Runyon Canyon trails, but the Ferndell trail which leads up to the Griffith Observatory has some of the best views in the city and is a beginner level hike. Great views of the Hollywood sign too!

This piece by Oakland-based artist Allison Torneros, aka Hueman, is probably one of my favorite murals in LA. I just love how murals can transform a simple, blank space into the canvas of a creative mind.

As far as cities go, LA will always be my first love. It is the city where I spent most of my adult life. The glitz and glamour of Tinseltown meets nature at its best. You can ski and surf in the same morning, then go wine tasting at some of the best vineyards around :)

There are a ton of photography opportunities in Los Angeles. You can photograph Downtown Los Angeles, The Walt Disney Music Hall, Hollywood, The Hollywood Sign, Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood. You should get up early if you want to do Los Angeles in a day but it is a great day trip from San Diego if your looking to catch some really cool photos.
