Stephen Colbert said “I want shrimp and hominy when I’m in Charleston, at whatever place doesn’t call hominy grits.” He said he gets that or the catch or the day at Hominy Grill, which is a local southern food staple in Charleston

The Charleston Nasty Biscuit with fried chicken breast, cheddar cheese & sausage gravy 🙋 It's safe to say I'm eating my way through Charleston and loving it.

Hominy Grill is a favorite of both locals and tourists. They serve up some great fried chicken on the Charleston Nasty Biscuit, along with some cheddar cheese and sausage gravy

If you’re coming to Charleston, this will probably come up on all the brunch lists and there’s a reason why! They don’t take reservations (except dinner), but the wait is usually quick. Enjoy a drink from the outdoor window while you wait...and work up an appetite for the Charleston Nasty Biscuit. Also great for classics like Shrimp n Grits!
