DYK: Artifacts from this museum will be used in the upcoming feature film about the Korean War “Devotion,” which will premiere in 2022. The film borrowed Ready Room chairs, a captain’s chair, and sinks and restored them before they were returned recently. The museum can now use them for many more years and the film took on the expense of the restoration.

🇺🇸CELEBRATE THE 4TH OF JULY: 6-10PM. The party on Patriot’s Point kicks off at 6pm with live music and at least ten local food trucks on site. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring folding chairs and picnic blankets. The fireworks show will start at 9:15 from a barge in the harbor. The only difference between this year and past years is that no one will be able to watch the fireworks from the Yorktown due to staffing issues. Parking is first-come, first-served and will cost $20 per car. Wherever you sit, you’re guaranteed to have a great view of the harbor!

The next day we explored the historic downtown of the city and the battleship at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. As we walked through the city we found ourselves at the city market, which claimed to be the “slave” market many years before. According to South Carolina Picture Project, no slaves were sold here. During the walk and the visiting of the museum we got hungry so we sat our mind to have something sweet.
