Similar atmosphere to Canggu, Uluwatu is a surfers paradise with its hipsters vibes. Beautiful limestone coastlines and shripwrecked beaches are every outdoor explorers dreams

Jaw-dropping. Stunning. Actually scrap that - words can't describe it. Make a reservation at The Edge Bali - and take in the clifftop views from a glassbottom cliff hanging pool! Then tell me I'm not right about this place.

Arguably the most popular spot in Bali to catch the sunset over the Indian Ocean from Uluwatu Temple which sits at the top of the amazing 70 meter cliff here!

There are enough beaches in the south of Bali. However, these are sometimes difficult to reach due to the cliffs. As it is also very high tide and low tide noticed, it can also be that a beach just has no place to sunbathe. But, I loved the beaches, which I saw during my stay in Bali. Attention , always use sunscreen. As you sunbathe very close to the equator, you quickly underestimate the strength of the sun. 1) Pantai Uluwatu- If you go down the stairs at the single-fin, you will find this small beach, which is almost in a cave. When we were there, however, it was almost completely flooded. Here all surfers go into the water to surf off the coast (only for experienced surfers).2) Padang Padang- Cute little beach, which is accessible only by stairs. 3) Bining Beach- Also this beach is only accessible via steep stairs. But very clean and pleasant for swimming. It has some cool and nice bar's and warung's (small restaurants). There are no beach chairs, but that would be really difficult, because at noon, the beach is almost completely flooded for a few hours. At " Kelly's Warung " we spent almost the whole day. Good drinks, delicious food and a shower to get rid of the sand. 4) Nyang Nyang- This beach is not easy to find, but with GoogleMaps it works. Just turn left at the temple of Uluwatu. The scooter is then placed on top of the cliff and in front of you is a steep gravel path down to the beautiful beach. The descent and especially the even stricter ascent is well worth it! You can expect a deserted beach, but strong waves and current. I just met a fisherman who even spoke great English for a quick little talk. Since there are no bars or restaurants, you will find almost no shade. So be sure to take sunscreen and enough water. If you get thirsty for a cold drink then sometimes a few locals get lost, who like to sell you a chilled coke for 20'000 IDR. For me, this deserted beach was a real highlight. I also heard that the neighboring beach Nunggalan Beach should be super nice, but there are also other tourists and you do not have the beach all to yourself. Oh yes, often you pay a small fee for the landowner or a parking fee of 10'000 IDR (0.70 Fr.) to get to the beach, this is quite normal.

The Uluwatu temple is renowned for its magnificent location, perched on top of a steep cliff approximately 70 metres above sea level.👌🏽 It’s definitely one of the top places on the island to go to for sunset delights, with direct views overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean - IG video credit: @balidestinations
