A traditional city with a calming vibe. Kyoto portrays culture and heritage through its majestic temples, glorious gardens and old city. You never know when you may turn a corner and catch a glimpse of a traditional Geisha girl.

Rich with history, a blend of new and old, this “small” city is charming beyond belief. The bamboo forest, the monkey hill and the temples make it unique. The new bustling city and the old quarters with geishas set it above any other city.

You cannot visit Japan without seeing Kyoto; this city is beautiful with amazing architecture and temples everywhere. Wandering the streets with a scoop of matcha ice cream is always fun, and you will never be short of cute shops and restaurants. If you are interested in trying on a traditional kimono for the day, this is the place to do it!

American author and entrepreneur Tony Robbins once said, "The only impossible journey is the one you never begin." During a crisp fall morning, along the snaking pathway of a firey, tree-lined railway, in the rolling backcountry of Kyoto, IG video credit: @beautifuldestinations

There is so much charm to Kyoto that its not surprise is makes it on to many peoples top lists. I highly recommend staying in or near Gion as that is where a lot of the temples are located. Kyoto has about 460 temples, so if you are a fan of sightseeing and exploring, Kyoto should not be missed.
