Indigo Kaftans and Robes Workshop Join Daisy McClellan at the Blair Center for the Arts (Mount Pleasant location) on Tuesday April 4th for her Indigo Dye Workshop where you’ll make your very own robe or kaftan! In this class you’ll learn the fundamentals of using indigo dye from beginning to end. We’ll discuss the history of indigo in South Carolina and then dive into how to create a dye vat and various shibori tie dye methods that reveal beautiful patterns. You’ll go home with your custom dyed one size fits most unisex robe or one size fits most kaftan (select at checkout) as well as 2 tea towels we will also dye during the class. Beginners are welcome in this 2 hour workshop- no experience is required. All materials provided. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy. What: Indigo Kaftans and Robes Workshop When: Tuesday April 4th from 6-8p Where: Blair Center for the Arts (Mount Pleasant location), 1125 Bowman Rd, 100, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464 Bundle and Ice Dye Workshop Join local artist Daisy McClellan at Redux Contemporary Art Center on April 6th from 6-8p for a color exploration through Bundle and Ice Dyeing. In this class, you’ll learn two dying techniques, one hot and one cold. Starting with the hot, bundle dying, you’ll explore this free-form natural dyeing technique using steam, to extract color from flowers, plants, and food. For the cold, you’ll master the art of ice dying using powdered dye and ice to create dream-like scenes! Students will go home with 2 one of a kind throw pillow covers and 2 square pieces of cloth that could be used as bandanas, scarves, napkins, wall hangings, and more! Beginners are welcome – no experience is required.  Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.
