All I need to say here is the food. Literally I would get on a plane to Rome at any given second for some pizza, pasta, and gelato. The history is, of course, amazing too!

Pasta, wine, scooters and a lot of history. Rome probably takes at least a week to fully explore the city. I love the smell of the scooter exhaust fumes, the warm air in summer, the friendly Romans and the grace with which the city greets you

Rome is the most populated and famous city in Italy, for good reason. You have probably learned a lot about it from school and history and always dreamt of going. It truly is as magnificent as people say it is. The amount of history, art, & culture packed into this one city is incredible. When in Rome I would not miss going to: Vatican City & Sistine Chapel, Saint Peters Basilica, the Spanish Steps the Pantheon, the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and Roman Forum.

Arriving to Rome you’re either going to take a cab or take the bus to a metro or what ever to the city. o So it’s obvs cheaper to take the bus/metro, but not to sound like a princess or anything, I’ve never taken it cause 1) every time I get back from a trip I’m tired AF and want to be home & 2) I would get lost cause I’m a dumbass o But if you’re with 3-5 people take a cab. BUT REMEMBER THE FARE IS ALWAYS 48E!!! THEY WILL TRY TO ARGUE WITH YOU AND SAY ITS 60, BUT ITS NOT!! There are signs all over the city that say the fare is always 48e. The 60e they are trying to charge you is for the airport cabs not the city cabs, so argue with them until you get your fucking 48e cab. Say you live there and argue.

Rome, one of the most romantic cities on the planet. You only have to put on your shoes and roam the streets you will surely fall on old ruin, a coliseum or the Vatican. The food is delicious and especially pastries.

Rome is one of our favorite cities to visit because it captures the Italian charm everyone imagines. The narrow cobble stoned streets, friendly people, and ancient ruins scattered throughout the city make it the perfect city for wandering and exploring. It's amazing walking around the city and seeing ancient ruins and historic buildings around almost every corner!

“All roads lead to Rome”. The eternal City where you either love it or hate it! For me, Rome is very sentimental and holds a very special place in my heart. It is a city that is so rich in history that every corner holds a secret waiting to be unravelled. Beneath its murky façade lies a city of love and beauty.

This is one city where you can just be walking down a random street and bump into a monument that you have seen all your life in movies and books, like the coliseum for example

Attractions: Vatican, (rent vespas outside the Vatican) Colosseum (go at night), The Catacombs, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Campo de Fiori, Piazza Navona, Trastavere district is poppin’ for people our age, there’s a lookout where you can see the whole city but I can’t remember what it’s called o Restaurants: La Scaletta near Pantheon has good gluten free pizza. Don Nino (chain) for gelato

In Rome there is always time for gelato. Recommendation: stroll on the side of the river in the Piazza Tevere.

The highlight of my time in Rome was taking a pasta making class on the rooftop of the chef’s apartment. We tasted olive oils and balsamic from different regions of Italy, then we made linguini from scratch. The chef talked about the slow food movement, which at its core really just means taking the time to make and enjoy your food. Surrounding yourself with friends and family and taking the time to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the process.

I was lucky to live in Rome for 3 years and get to know it pretty well. Known as the eternal city it has so much to offer visitors: great food and a neverending selection of historical sites and museums. My favourite place is the Colosseum.

Obviously, I saw the colleseum, the parthenon, and the forum, and all that other historic stuff, but that’s not what impressed me about Rome. It was the smaller things, like the food, the wine, the marble cobbled streets, and how the people are so expressive and passionate. So, to sum it up, the peak of my Eat Pray Love journey definitely peaked somewhere between my 7th plate of carbonara pasta and 3rd margherita pizza.

Check out this city’s historical and memorable sites. Take a tour of the Colosseum, Palantine Hill, and the Forum. Use the tour company Crown Tours, very friendly tour guides who are both interesting and informative. Enjoy the beautiful city!

If you love history, this is the place for you! Give yourself a few days at least to fully enjoy all that Rome has to offer. Vatican City, The Roman Forum, and The Colosseum were some of my favorites! The food is some of the best that you'll get in all of Italy.
