Resident Artist, Hayden Wilson: Opening Exhibit & Welcome Reception - The Gallery at Sweetgrass, located within the Sweetgrass Plaza at Wild Dunes Resort, recently announced its 2023 Resident Artist, Hayden Wilson. Each year, the Gallery showcases local, regional, and nationally recognized artists that celebrate the beautiful and natural surroundings of the resort’s coastal locale in their works to the Isle of Palms community and resort guests. As the featured Resident Artist, Wilson will be creating in the Gallery’s studio space, capturing the scenery and technicolor of life on the coast. “The intentions of my paintings are to celebrate the various textures, colors, and spaces of a local scene by incorporating intense saturated colors and strategic marks; the captivating works combine the highly technical with the naturally organic,” said Wilson. “I invite viewers to consider the possibility that naturally existing colors evolve and are experienced on a wider spectrum depending on lighting, setting, and mood. I strive to make the quiet areas where colors collide have their own exciting moments.” A South Carolina native, Wilson received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Clemson University with a focus in oil painting. POP-UP: The Gallery at Sweetgrass will be hosting artisans of handcrafted jewelry, hand carved charcuterie boards, and home décor along with a selection of small works by their artists from Friday, November 26th to Sunday, November 28th from 11 am to 6 pm. The event will include Gwodzo Boards, Holst + Lee, Kati Art Glass, and SuSu Jewelry.
