😷 MASK ORDINANCE DISCUSSION: Today at 5pm Charleston City Council will discuss an ordinance that would require a face covering or mask in all indoor facilities public or private for people ages 2 and up. This includes all public and private schools, daycares, restaurants, public transportation, etc.

💰MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE: The city currently has 293 vacant positions and city council believes this is due to Charleston County’s minimum wage (currently $13.50) is lower than Mt.Pleasant ($16.92) and North Charleston ($15.39). They are proposing a budget that would bump it up to $14/hour in January and $15/hour by July.

😷 MASK ORDINANCE UPDATE: An expansive mask ordinance that would require everyone ages 2 and up in public or private buildings (regardless of vaccination status) to mask up passed its first reading in City Council last night 10 to 3. The ordinance needs two more readings before it goes into effect.
