Patriots Point Launches Online Ticket Sales for USS Yorktown’s Flight Deck on July 4th: Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is now offering online ticket sales for access to the USS Yorktown’s Flight Deck during the 4th of July Fireworks Blast. The tickets cost $25 and are on sale now.

Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum visitors can now take a bite out of history with a treat enjoyed by sailors during World War II. The museum will begin selling cookies made from the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier’s original 1940’s recipe on Friday, April 15th, 2022, the day the ship celebrates its 79th birthday.

Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the historic Doolittle Raid of World War II by hosting a free presentation by best-selling author James Scott. On Thursday, April 14th at 6:30 pm, Scott will provide insight into this historic event as told in his book Target Tokyo: Jimmy Doolittle and the Raid that Avenged Pearl Harbor. The book was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in History and details one of America’s most daring military operations.

On both Saturday, November 13th and Sunday, November 14th, the first Black Food Truck Festival will be held at Patriots Point. The family-friendly event will combine culture, music, and of course, food trucks.

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is now a member of Museums for All and will offer free admission to participants of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Anyone who participates in SNAP will receive free admission for up to four people by presenting an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card at the ticket window.

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will relaunch its historic overnight program and begin taking reservations on Friday, January 7th. Now called Operation Overnight, groups can spend one or two nights aboard the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier and sleep in the same bunks as sailors in World War II. Operation Overnight is available to groups of 10 people or more. Groups can choose between a one or two-night stays which include museum admission, the Live Like a Sailor program, commemorative patch, and more. Reservations are open at patriotspoint.org.

A new exhibit at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will display some of the most delicate artifacts in their collection for the very first time. The Fragile Collections exhibit features items that must be stored in a carefully climate controlled area. A new exhibit space on the USS Yorktown Hangar Deck allows these artifacts to be safely displayed without exposure to heat or humidity. The Fragile Collections exhibit will open to the public on Friday, December 17th and is included in the price of museum admission
