DYK: 60,000 cubic yards of sand are being used to create a sandbar on the northeast end of Folly Beach to help with erosion. The project began on Monday and is expected to last through May.

DYK: Nesting season has started for endangered Loggerhead turtles now through October🐢 you can help by filling in any holes left at the beach so the tiny turtles don’t fall in and also by picking up any trash.

The inaugural Folly Beach Island-Wide Spring Clean will be held on Sunday, April 3rd from 1 pm to 3 pm. The clean-up is hosted by the South Carolina Aquarium and Charleston Surfrider and organized by the Folly Association of Businesses’ Litter Committee.
