Interlaken was my second favorite trip that I did, it was a BEAUTIFUL little town and the group of girls that I went with just had so much fun hanging out together. We went with Bus2Alps which is a student tour group based out of Italy (Florence actually I think) and they take college abroad students on tours of different places, definitely check out their website. What makes it so inexpensive if youre going from Italy is also that they actually put you on a bus to take you places. It could be pretty miserable being on a bus for hours I would think but you save the plane money. For people from Paris they have fly-in tours so they met us at the airport. Anyways, Interlaken is a big ski area which I think you would probably love to do. They didn’t have any snow when we went so we couldn’t ski which in the end worked out perfectly. It’s a small town in a valley of the alps between two lakes (Inter-LAKE-n, get it?) we went hiking and shopping in the little town but they also have tons of outdoor-extreme sports. I went paragliding and it was SO worth the money. I would do it again in a second if I could!! Other Interlaken thigns: Outdoor Interlaken has all you need for skiing, or other adventure activities. They even rent things like gloves (because who thinks to bring that to paris??) I went Paragliding through Outdoor Interlaken and it was AWESOME. They also have skydiving, Canyon climbing etc. Utopia- restaurant across from Balmers that has great sandwiches, BAGELS, and they have a fun happy hour Irish Pub next to Balmers- I forget the name but we went there for dinner one night and it was a lot of fun and really good comfort food.

Switzerland is a paradise for winter sport lovers. When covered in snow, the alps transform and turn into a real-life winter wonderland. Interlaken sets the stage for one of the most beautiful alpine towns to visit during winter.

Interlaken is a Ritzy, small town in between two lakes (hence the name Interlaken) with the Aare river flowing through it. This is where you will transfer trains to get to Lauterbrunnen and eventually Grindelwald, Gimmelwald, & Murren. There is a lot of local Swiss cuisine here, souvenir shops, outdoor gear outfitters, & chocolate shops. Enjoy a walk around the river and the views of mountains all around you.

It is one of the most amazing places in Switzerland. Starting point for excursions that will leave you breathless, such as Mount Murren, Grindelwald, Lake Blausee, Lauterbrunnen.

Night sledding in the Alps — Night sledding in the Swiss Alps should be on everyone’s bucket list. The view of snow covered mountains and stars in a clear night sky is heavenly, and the sledding itself is just pure fun.

Jaw dropping scenery, very small so if you do it with BUS2alps with your friends so you can stay busy and everything was very expensive here Stayed at City Oberland Hotel Highly recommend going in the winter when it's snowing We went with Bus2alps which was the best idea because they provide all the activities for you and you don't have to do anything with them besides use the hotel and transportation activities are optional if you want to buy them. I recommend midnight sledding (DO NOT DRINK BEFORE or you might die like I almost did nearly falling off the edge of a cliff) Also recommend paragliding or skydiving it’s insanely beautiful and paragliding wasn’t scary Do a day trip with bus2alps to Zurich and see the Christmas markets We walked around a lot and played in the snow, wanted to go ice skating, looked at the lakes Restaurants: Hooters Breakfast in Hotel El Azteca Mexican Restaurant Taverne Fondue with Cheese and make a reservation

One of the best travel moments of my life was bungee jumping from 150 meters (500 feet) in #Interlaken #Switzerland. I was incredibly scared and intimidated to do it. My body was shaking and palms were sweating. I was begging my friends everything not to do it. But I finally built up the courage, and I did it. And after I landed on the ground, I felt like I was on top of the world. Since that day in June 2012, I've been bungee jumping twice more (in Korea and India) -- and I'm planning to do it again in Latvia next week. This post serves as a constant reminder to step outside of your comfort zone. Because trust me, so many better things will happen to you by living this way 😊
