An ancient volcano, and fairly steep climb, this lookout point provides some of the best views in the city, so I’m told. Unfortunately, my feet were aching and I couldn’t get them to make the hike (excuses, I know!).

If you have the courage and stamina, climbing the extinct volcano is a fun activity that provides excellent panoramic views of the city and beyond. The hill rises above the city to a height of 250.5 m (822 ft), and it's not the easiest climb but well worth the view!

a good hike up a hill that used to be a volcano a long long time ago. Now it's viewing point for many tourists and locals. Takes a while to get to the top, but it's a good exercise with a good view at the end.

This is a really cool hike right in the city of Edinburgh, which is made even more special if you get to see all the gorse plants in bloom. They cover the hill in unique, yellow flowers.
