This was a fun little weekend getaway from barcelona. In my opinion you can do this city in a weekend, BUT if you want to see the highlands in scotland then you should stay for longer. I loved this city for the architecture, the food, the people and the lifestyle. The weather was pretty gloomy the whole time we were there and it was relatively pricey compared to other european countries but it was SUCH a great weekend trip. definitely recommend. easy to navigate or take public transportation through

Ok so I may be a TINY bit bias (it is my hometown after all) but I really believe Edinburgh has it all. Mysterious, a bit quirky and with so much history, Edinburgh can keep any visitor entertained for days. Don’t miss exploring old Edinburgh, climbing Arthur Seat, joining a ghost tour and make sure you leave time for a day or two in the Highlands. Try visiting during the Edinburgh festival in August if you can - just remember to book accomondation well in advance!

We loved Edinburgh! Make sure to take the tour of Mary's Kings Close, explore the vast castle, and walk the Royal Mile. If you have kids, make a stop at Camera Obscura and take the fantastic Potter Trail Tour– you won't be sorry!

Edinburgh is charming and a great alternative to the largeness that is London. Plus, there's bagpipe music on every corner!

Gothic , mysterious and dark! Grab your pitch forks and drum of whiskey! Edinburgh is best enjoyed sipping a whiskey on the Royal Mile after you have had warm haggis with gravy and mash! Visit to the castle is a must and walk on Victoria street with its colourful town houses is best enjoyed rapped up in a kilt blanket.

My favourite city in the UK, Edinburgh tops London for me. The views from Arthur's Seat are amazing (so good I did it twice in one day) and there are so many cool bars and restaurants throughout the city you would never get bored

My favourite city in the world, I love the tradition, the architecture and the ghost tours. The Scottish people are so friendly to top it all off.

This is a majestic city with a fascinating history. Both Old and New Towns are different but lovely just the same. Read up on my recommendations on Edinburgh for more details!

Edinburgh ,the capital of Scotland, is a true fairytale town. Its old town is so mythical. People who like Harry Potter will be delighted by the view of the Alnwick Castle.
