CHARLESTON, SC. (WCIV) — The CHS airport is now open under normal operations. The airfield closed yesterday due to inclement weather from Hurricane Ian.

Possibly one of the nicest airports I’ve been to. Very manageable and quiet. Loved that rental cars were right next to the baggage claim.

✈️JOB FAIR TODAY: 9am-2pm inside the airport. Participants will be able to speak directly to hiring managers and should arrive dressed for success and with multiple copies of their resume. There are open positions for concessions, contractors, and customs and border patrol.

✈️ WEEKLY HIRING EVENT: Each Monday until the end of August there will be a hiring event from 12-3pm at the airport. These roles are for food and bev workers such as cooks, baristas, etc. There is a $1,000 signing bonus for all hourly positions and competitive salary ranges offered. Applicants should bring 2 forms of identification and meet at Harvest & Grounds within the airport

❌FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS: 64 flights were cancelled on Friday due to inclement weather and 14 more departing flights were cancelled this morning. If you’re traveling make sure to check your flight status. They hope to be back to a normal schedule by this afternoon.

✈️HOLIDAY HEROICS: On Tuesday, two nurses and a doctor who boarded a JetBlue flight were called to action when a woman suffered a medical episode. They worked for four hours to stabilize the woman while the flight was still in progress and made it to LAX where EMS was waiting to further care for the woman.
