It’s a must see in ones lifetime. It’s easy enough to google and see why, but being there is a different feeling. It has a prolific walk through a canyon that eventually arrives into a hidden city where every house and church is built directly into the sandstone cliffs. It’s a reminder of the amazing feats of humans.

We stayed one night in Esperanza Petra. The location is great, it’s a 5-minute walk to the Petra entrance. Staff is nice and the breakfast was delicious. Rooms were a bit old-fashioned, though, but for one night it’s perfectly fine. Next morning, we started at 6 am to Wadi Rum.

Petra is the top places to visit in Jordan. An archeological and historic city that goes beyond the Indiana Jones Treasury. Highly recommended is hiking up the 800 steps to the impressive Monestary. Also catch Petra by night where you can sit on blankets and listen to Bedouin music by candle light.

One of the 7 new wonders of the world, Petra is an ancient city that’s half natural and half carved into giant rocks in the south Jordanian desert. I had only heard about it a few times before I went, so I didn’t have too many expectations. This place is the real deal if you like adventure, history and mind-blowing structures built into the desert. You have to see it to believe it.

The Grail in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, it turns out, resides in the ‘Canyon of the Crescent Moon’, in actuality, Al Khazneh, the so-called ‘Treasury’ of the rock city of Petra in the Edom Mountains of southwest Jordan.

Hands down my favourite destination ever - you will be hard pushed to find a more interesting and awe inspiring destination. There are lots of amazing hikes in Petra but my personal favourite is the one that takes you to the above view point ❤️ Anclose second would be the hike to the Monestary - therr over 800 uneven steps to the top but it is definitely worth it.

You can go donkey riding in the beautiful landscapes of petra. If you love adrenaline, this is for you. They bring you on this huge cliff path. However, on the left side there is nothing (a huge empty space).
