Shwarma -- Shawarma is a Middle Eastern meat dish based on the Turkish doner kebab, but the Israeli version comes in a pita pocket stuffed with fresh salad and different sauces. The meat is often seasoned marinated shavings of beef, chicken or lamb, cooked slowly to keep the juices and flavour in. Pick a popular street vendor and takeaway joint instead of restaurant, they are much cheaper and oh-so-tasty!

Israel is one of my favorite countries, and I loved Jerusalem. Walking through the holy city was amazing and also celebrating Hanukkah there while staying at the warm and friendly Abraham Hostel made it an experience to remember. Besides Jerusalem, Tel Aviv has one of the best nightlifes ever, I met two Swiss pilots and we ended up bar hopping and hitting clubs till the wee hours of the morning. Another fun experience was going to the beach at night to swim with fellow travelers. Pure adventure, Pure happiness.
