If you are seeking the sun and beautiful landscapes in Europe, then Spain is a goldmine. Not only are the cities incredible, there are numerous islands that provide a more natural setting of beauty.

Tapas -- A tradition in Spanish culture is eating tapas - a meal of many different small dishes to taste a variety of things. And quite a few options are vegan!

Before going, I only associated Spain with its sunny mediterranean beaches; however, the country also has the beautiful Pyrenees Mountains in the Northwest, several deserts, and of course beautiful cities like Sevilla, Valencia, and more.

The birthplace of one of my favorite languages, Spain has some of the best beach towns, live music, and a place where time is not a factor. Leisurely lunches with a beer and a feeling of relaxation and some nice fashion (visit Zara when youre here for cheaper prices and exclusive pieces). Sevilla a quaint little city where orange trees are in full bloom during the winter... Great food and good spirits and where the spanish have a lisp when talking.

Paella, dancing and love for life is what you will find in Spain. Gorgeous beaches and vibrant cities. Don’t miss Gaudi’s impressive architecture within Barcelona.

Paella in Southern Spain — Valencia is the birthplace of paella, a hearty rice dish full of flavor, vegetables, and maybe meat or seafood. Great paella can be found anywhere along the south coast as well.

Such diversity within one country, you could visit a new city or town or village each time and be transported to some place completely different. Not even mentioning the islands! Spain is truly the gem of Europe.

The country where I studied abroad will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ll never be able to consume enough Paella in my life- but for Spain I love Barca, the northern coast, and Salamanca.
