Centennial Park Big Band Dance Centennial Park SATURDAY AT 7 PM Metro Parks Music is excited to return to the Centennial Park Event Shelter this summer for our Big Band Dance Series! The community is excited to come cut-a -rug and listed to local big bands all throughout the summer. Free dance lessons begin at 7:00 PM and the band hits the stage at 7:30 PM! Band: Debbi Bailes Band Dance Lesson: Cha Cha Food Trucks: Smokin' Buttz (BBQ), I'z a Philly Thing (Cheese Steaks), and Fratellos Italian Ice.

Though her career began in the world of sports — she has degrees in sports business and administration and worked with the American Volleyball Coaches Association — these days, Joia Pollard is flexing her muscles as the program coordinator at the Centennial Park Conservancy. Originally from Lexington, KY, the Nashville transplant spearheads the event management for everything from Musicians Corner to Celebrate Nashville, Centennial Park’s annual cultural festival in October. Devoted to bringing arts, music, and enriching education to Centennial Park and the Parthenon, Joia is our newest FACE of Nashville!

51st Annual Spring Tennessee Craft Fair Centennial Park, Nashville MAY 6 AT 10 AM – MAY 8 AT 5 PM Tennessee Craft presents the 51st Annual Spring Tennessee Craft Fair, in Nashville’s iconic Centennial Park. Artists from across the nation will exhibit their handmade craft on the Great Lawn adjacent to the Parthenon, showcasing fine craft from clay, jewelry and leather to wood, glass, painting and more. Organizational partners will be onsite in our Kids' Tent throughout the weekend sharing a variety of craft techniques with our youngest fair goers and guiding children through art activities that they can recreate at home using ordinary materials and their creativity. In the Demonstration Tent, watch and learn “how it’s made” from the Tennessee Association of Woodturners, the Clay Lady’s Campus, and This Little Light Creative Glass. The Emerging Makers Tent is another exciting place to be during the fair! Artists who are just beginning their craft careers or are exhibiting in a craft fair for the first time work together in a group selling environment to support each other in set up, display, selling and customer service. Through the fairs and a robust calendar of year-round programs, Tennessee Craft impacts current and future generations of craft artists and collectors. Tennessee Craft Fairs (held each Spring and Fall) are the premier outdoor events for artists to showcase and sell their work in an intimate and personal setting. Craft artists connect with the community by demonstrating their craft knowledge and processes. As always, this free event is accessible to the public – with free parking and free shuttle service on Saturday and Sunday. Shuttles will run in 15-minute loops from the HCA Parking Lots located on Park Plaza to the entrance of the Tennessee Craft Fair. Gray Line of Tennessee generously provides this free service. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Nashville Earth Day 2022 Centennial Park SATURDAY AT 11 AM – 6 PM Nashville Earth Day, the city’s official annual event to celebrate Earth Day, will return to Centennial Park on Saturday, April 23 from 11 AM - 6 PM. This free family event brings the Nashville community together to celebrate our planet, inspire positive environmental change, and support sustainable small businesses and nonprofits. Nashville Earth Day will feature engaging and educational activities from a variety of exhibitors and vendors, including: local growers and makers, nonprofits, sustainable small businesses, and state/metro government agencies. The event will also include free live music, Kidsville activities, yoga by Small World Yoga, and local food vendors.
