Four Mile Trail
The Four Mile Trail to Glacier point is one of my favorite trails in Yosemite National Park. It's quite a tough hike. The ascent to the top is over 3000 feet. Your legs and body will ache, but your heart will feel full with beatufiul views of Yosemite Valley and one of the best views of Half Dome at Glacier Point. Yes, you can take the bus to get straight to Glacier Point, but where's the fun in that?

Cathedral Lakes Trailhead
The trail offers the most stunning views and reflection of the unique Cathedral Peak. There are two lakes - Lower Cathedral Lakes and Upper. We preferred the view from upper Cathedral lakes. We climbed up some rocks to get unparalleled views of the lake. The hike is 7 miles and can be done as a day trip.

Sunrise Lakes Trail
One of the highest points in Yosemite - just slightly shorter than Half Dome. At the top you have a 360 panoramic view of the incredible park, and a complete view of Half Dome and the entire Valley. This 14.5mile hike is best done as a backpacking trip as the hike is a bit challenging and is best done at a comfortable pace.

Mount Tamalpais
Mount Tam is the perfect day hike if you're visiting San Francisco. Only an hour north of the city, you're able to enjoy this incredible piece of nature. Getting to the peak is about a 12 mile round trip hike, but the views are seriously worth it!

Desolation Wilderness
Stunning 12 mile loop trail in Lake Tahoe. This beautiful remote lake is is known for the unique smooth rocks surrounding the lake. For the best experience, I'd recommend doing an overnight backpacking trip to take advantage of the incredible sunset. Make sure to call ahead and reserve permits ahead of time.

Taft Point
The hike to Taft Point is only 2 miles round trip, but has the most amazing views of Yosemite. Because it's a short hike, it's very possible to grab a snack and watch the sunset and make it back to the car without it getting too dark.

McWay Falls
This iconic waterfall in Big Sur is a must see if you're in the area. It's a very short trail to get to this overlook. If you have time, there are some amazing trails nearby where you can view the incredible California coast and road.

Tomales Point Trail
On the edge of Point Reyes Peninsula, this is my favorite trail for walking among Cypress Trees and wildflowers. There is also an Elk reserve, so might get to see a herd of Elk nearby.
