Explore pristine white sandy beaches. Worth every pain staking hour of travel it will take to get you here. Easiest way is to fly from Adelaide to Port Lincoln - then hire a 4WD. You'll have the place to yourself most of the time - from every angle this part of southern coast is stunning.

Second Valley
Just a short drive from Adelaide, Second Valley is another word. Beautiful blue water, rockpools and views of the St Vincent Gulf. It's worth hiring a paddle board for an hour or two and exploring caves further towards rapid bay. Looking beneath your board, the water is glass bottom and you'll see amazing ocean life along the way

McLaren Vale
Sample the best wine in the country. Tours run regularly from Adelaide - or you could hire your own car with a designated driver. Beautiful cellar doors are sprawled througout the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula. I might be bias (family owned) but try Parri Estate at Mclarenvale for a nice drop.

Go sandboarding. That's right - sandboarding. There are sandhills all around the Eyre Peninsula. It's a lot of fun whether you are good or consistently stacking it!

Explore the Flinders Ranges. Melrose is a great place to stay, with Mt Remarkable nestled next to the town. You can do multiple day hikes throughout the ranges. Really spectacular views of the Spencer Gulf along the way.

Visit the Blue Lake. A remnant from the volcanic era - the 'blue lake' in Mt Gambier is fast becoming at instagramable spot.

Eat some of the best fruit you'll ever taste. It's called Berri for a reason. The fruit in the riverland is sacred. And it's a beautiful place to explore and take in the River Murray as well.

I had the most amazing time at Innes on a school camp. Staying at Corny Point caravan park - you can take your pick of which amazing beach to visit each day. I was swimming with a pod of dolphins for a whole afternoon.

Get up close and personal with a cute koala while they feed away on eucalyptus leaves. This is one of the lesser known parks - we found it not to be too busy - which meant more time with the precious koala!

South Australians love their beach 'shacks'. With the rise of Air BnB you can share the love. So many cute coastal towns where you could set up and put the feet up for a few days
