Chiang Mai Night Bazaar

Although Thailand is very cheap to begin with, buying all your fun souvenirs and snacks at an even lower price at the night bazaar is the way to go! When I first visited Chiang Mai two years ago I found myself doing a ton of shopping at great prices but didn’t find the bazaar to be anything besides the deals. However, returning this past week I found they rest upped their game! Down every street in the bazaar area you will find stands filled with everything you can think of from elephant pants, to hand carved items, to jewelry and more! In addition to the shops they have added a center area that is full of food trucks, stands, seating areas and love music! It was so trendy, exciting and full of literally every food and drink option you could think of! We had such a wonderful time relaxing after some light shopping and really made for such a great ending to a long day! Whether you are in need for good deals on Thailand goods or not I would absolutely recommend heading to the night bazaar even just to enjoy a taste from different stands and the ambiance they have created!

When returning to Thailand I couldn’t help but remembering after getting a tattoo at The Best Tattoo shop I went next door to a great restaurant called Barrio with this very unique and amazing pizza! As I returned I really wanted to go back but it was closed. The restaurant that replaced Barrio is called 32ChiangMai, it is an Irish Thailand restaurant so we thought why not give it a go! This had been one of our first meals in Thailand and after eating our body weight In dalbhat , Chow Mein and Momo’s in Nepal so naturally we ordered chicken tenders and a sausage and peppers pizza. We were happily very impressed with the food and the Italian in me was super happy to be given olive oil and crushed red pepper flakes with it as well. Our server was not very present but overall still really enjoyed our experience! The location is right in the center of Chiang Mai, the prices were very fair, and the decorations were super loud and fun! I would definitely recommend If you are looking to enjoy a cheat meal away from the street food for a day!

THC Rooftop bar

During our stay in Chiang Mai we found our hostel to be very close to many bars! We visited a few stopping for a drink or appetizer here and there but once again going off the beaten path and following intriguing signs led us to a bar called THC Rooftop bar! The whole place had crazy fun artwork everywhere, mostly done in glow in the dark paint and with the dim lighting and few fun lights it was the perfect vibe! Drinking while backpacking can get quite expensive so we are always looking for a good deal! THC served drinks in buckets that already were a good deal of 250 thb. But they also had a deal which was 190 thb. for the drink Sex on the Roof! It was a little on the sweeter side which most bucket drinks seem to be but still good and strong! THC is also another restaurant we found that although they had a few regular tables and chairs, most of the seating was on pillows at short tables on an elevated surface! Sitting legs crossed I’m a comfortable area makes the hangout so much for relaxing! We had a few drinks, played cards, and enjoyed the great music! We really enjoyed THC and actually returned after dinner! We wish they had food because we would have stayed the entire time but we were happy to come back once we had finished! If you’re near THC Rooftop Bar next time you’re in Chiang Mai definitely worth checking out! Message me any recommendations in Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai while we are still in the area 😊
