Kuang Si Waterfall
This is one thing you can not miss while in Laos. It is a short 45 minutes away from Luang Prabang city center like area and costs 20,000 kip to enter. These falls are absolutely stunning and walking along the path and viewing all the different sites along the way is a perfect way to spend your afternoon! There are sections you can swim in or climb the falls which we highly enjoyed! Warning, the little fishes will nibble at your toes but just think of it as a free fish pedicure 😉 It’s as simple as that though, visit the falls, they are stunning and you will not be disappointed!

Smile Beach Bar
ALRIGHT I have been stoked to post about this place. Smile Beach Bar might be the definition of ones happy place, seriously no way to not smile when you are here. As you’re walking the streets on Vang Vieng you will find the somewhat hidden bamboo bridge that takes you over a pond, through some trees and to happiness. From the bungalows with swinging hammocks, the daybeds to lay out on, swimming in the water, playing games in the sand, and ending the night with a bonfire, all your needs are here. Food is quite yummy and very reasonably priced and drink deals are unbeatable! 40,000 kip for buy one, get one Liquor bucket! Also fun fact, Smile Beach Bar is the last stop to the tubing party which makes for the best ending to a super fun day! We were most sad to leave Smile Bar but thankful that every moment there was so fun with such amazing new friends!

Opera House Grill&Lao kitchen
After our long 12 hour bus ride to Luang Prabang my friend Mallory and I were very anxious to explore the area and get some food in our stomachs! We walked down what seemed to be the main road and found ourselves following Johns Mayer’s voice straight into Opera house. Now where to begin... first of all Opera House has the best playlists we have heard in SE Asia thus far, I think of it as being the perfect Sunday lazy day Kindof music, if you know what I mean. The decor is super fun and one of those places where a lot of random just seems to work so well together. Plants and lights hanging from the ceiling, records on the walls, chalk board on another, all different kinds of seating, the list goes on and on. The menu is wonderful, and affordable! They are famous for their kabobs but we went with French fries and Onion rings because well, we were being boring. They were both delicious and I have to say I was blown away by the fact that we were automatically given mayo and ketchup in THE SAME BOWL! As if I didn’t love this place enough from the start. They have plenty of drink options and a great happy hour. We stuck with Ciders, ballin’ out on a budget.... We only were in Luang Prabang for 2 days, but we did make an appearance at Opera House both of those days. The owner was very charming and staff very attentive! Opera House is a must hit restaurant when I’m Luang Prabang!
