The Cottage La Jolla
Sure there are awesome fish tacos and other things in San Diego area but for me this is the best highest quality all around "classic brunch". While staying in downtown La Jolla for a three day weekend my brother and I went here three days in a row. Great ingredients, memorably fresh and tasty orange juice (and mimosas!), friendly staff even while it's super busy, and some great outdoor seating. Simple. Predictable. Awesome.

L'Auberge Del Mar
Its reputation precedes. These properties are simply amazing albeit pricey. Save it for a big anniversary or romantic getaway. I was there years ago for dinner and I simply recall saying "wow" out loud every few minutes. Everything was impressive including the pop rocks dessert they served on a plate that is literally on fire.

Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa
One of the larger hotel properties in the San Diego area complete with great lounging and pool scene. Probably better for families than the single or party scene but the location is second to none. Can dine on the bay and rent paddle boards to explore Mission Bay. Get a room with a view!

The Fishery
Rockin sushi, various fresh seafood and a full seafood market in an old school warehouse. Good outdoor seating and a surprisingly strong wine list, too.

Oscar’s Mexican Seafood
Hole in the wall cash only super laid back casual spot with amazing Mexican seafood. Multiple locations but all are about the same so just go to the closest one...and bring your appetite.

Taco Surf Pb
Right off the beach, this is the perfect spot to make your own burrito or tacos after a big night or big day of surfing. My favorite burrito spot in San Diego no question.

Kettner Exchange
This place truly has it all. Incredible and creative American and global dishes, an award winning cocktail program, delightful ambience and decor that belong in architectural digest, and spectacular service. The perfect place for our date night while on vacation.

Nytro Multisport
Their website and email blasts suggest that this would be a massive warehouse of a store...it isn't. But don't let that fool you - it is the heartbeat of endurance multi sport in Southern California. Insanely knowledgeable staff who will take their time with you to make sure you get the right gear for whatever your race distance or goal. They have great relationships with vendors so can quickly special order anything you might need. Also a nice location and high performance bike rental options in case you don't bring your own rig. All around great store.
