The port cafe
Freeport- I had a difficult time finding an online menu to link for you, but you can expect to find all your usual breakfast favorite here. But being a little southern and in Texas, you can also find some great Mexican inspired breakfast items!

Sweet T's Diner
Freeport- My family always hits the breakfast places hard on vacation and this second option is great for breakfast, lunch and dinner! It is a diner after all! Here are some breakfast highlights, they have good hashbrowns and really good grits. Sweet T’s Diner is a bit more spacious if you’re looking for an area to accommodate a larger party. Also, out of the three on this list, they definitely had the friendlies staff!

Gypsy Joynt
There isn’t a ton of seating and it quickly fills up! Our party of five arrived around 11:30 a.m. and we were served shortly before 12 p.m. The Gypsy Joynt is a great lunch option in Galveston and all of the food (and coffee) we ordered on our Wednesday visit was definitely worth the price we paid.

Grotto Ristorante
If you’re looking for a nice night out, a friendly staff and great food, visit Grotto Ristorante in Galveston! Our family overall had a great time and the food was wonderful and I couldn’t say enough about how kind the manager was. Also, if you go, you should try the Shrimp & Crab Capellini, as it was amazing!

Farley Girls Cafe
I have NEVER had a bad experience, except for the one time I went and ordered waffles instead of getting the delicious breakfast pizza. Not to say the waffles are bad, but that breakfast pizza is what pizza lover’s dreams are made of, y’all. Also, when you order a carafe of mimosas, you’re getting a whole bottle of champagne with your orange juice. (Grapefruit, pineapple and cranberry are also options!) For $15, that makes me feel like I’m getting my money’s worth!

Sugar Skull Rolling Cafe
Breakfast in Surfside on Friday and Saturday should be eaten at Sugar Skull Rolling Cafe. Let’s start with what I had, the Breakfast Taco Plate. Three corn tortillas filled with eggs, bacon and shredded cheese with flat grilled potatoes and homemade pico! They were only $8, y’all. This place is good y’all (AND they recently started doing pizza!), so good in fact that they sell out! So check their social media pages before you get ready to chow down to make sure there’s still something left for you! You can find Sugar Skull Rolling Cafe at the corner of Bluewater Highway (CR 257) and TX 332, which just so happens to be a short walk from the main entrance to the beach in Surfside!
