Santa Margherita Ligure
Just a few hours by train from Milan, very scenic and picturesque from the moment you step off the train. The food and ice cream are reasonably priced…and who wouldn’t say no to Pizza.

A backpackers hub, a lot of like Pai in Thailand, but smaller, with great eats and loads of cheap hostels and hotels, and the views in Ella are just out of this world.

Brilliantly colourful and diverse. I also just love that it’s a short drive from the mountains for the hikers out there.

It’s like being in the Caribbean and very backpacker friendly, unlike Sydney it is much smaller and cheaper than Sydney, but also the hub for activities like diving the Great Barrier Reef.
