GREAT location right on the water. Fantastic views; old boathouse vibe. Recommend the “salty dog” hotdog, fish and chips, and the Bloody Marys. Cool inside bar scene as well.

Great for a rainy day in Florida- for adults and kids alike. Really cool fish. Check out the manatees, the HUGE ancient turtles, and whatever current exhibit they have. Afterwards, stop at the Old Salty Dog for lunch.

Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall

Been here multiple times for shows. Seating is limited because there is so much space between seats- you never feel cramped. Always have an interesting line-up whether it’s concert, lecture, or cultural event.

The Resort at Longboat Key Club

Fantastic accommodations located at the entrance point of Longboat Key- close to Sarasota and St. Armand’s Circle. Great pool, attentive beach service, and various room types including rooms with kitchenettes. Situated directly on the Gulf of Mexico. Access to 36 holes of beautiful golf course included with stay, as well as a separate marina on the bay. On top of all this, huge tennis scene with many courts and tennis pros on-site for private lessons. Highly recommended! If you get a room with a kitchenette go to the Publix down the street to stock up- it’s a great supermarket!

Just a great place. Food is awesome and has an old-world dark wood charm on the interior. Always came here as a kid for special occasions. The outdoor loft is fantastic with cool booths facing outward for beautiful views.

This is a great high-end seafood restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating right on St. Armand’s Circle. They always have a good fresh local catch. Interior has booths and tables.

Sarasota Jungle Gardens

Great for kids and adults. Used to go here when I was a kid all the time and returned as an adult! Basically like a zoo and garden setup. You can feed the flamingos! Great place to spend time.

Publix Super Market at Shoppes of Bay Isles

Good supermarkets are hard to find these days. This place is so calm, had great service and help, and everyone is courteous. Extremely pleasant experience. Great if you are renting on Longboat or staying in a kitchenette room at Longboat Key Club.
