This airspace museum is way better than the on in DC. The entrance is free, there is only 15$ parking fee until 4PM. You can also find the reconstruction of a control tower, go on top and see the airplanes landing at Dulles Airport.

National Harbor
There is a lot of to discover in this area. You can enjoy the carousel or the ferris wheel or just simply walk around. Parking is 5$ for the first 2 hours .

Burke Lake
This park is a good picnic spot. There is a small railroad that does goes all around the Lake and a mini golf. Entrace to the park is free with a Virginia ID.

Lake Fairfax Drive
Perfect for a walk. During summer season you can go to Water Mine Swimmin' Hole. I water park suitable for toddler or young kids. Free parking.

Great Falls Park
Not only during a work day, this National Park offer stunning water falls to admire. Think about to stay for a picnic. During a good weekend day the line up to go inside the park can reach one hour waiting.

Fairfax Corner
In the main square there is spray park. Just grab a table and let the kids get wet. During no school period there is also story time or other activities for kids. The only bad point is that there are no public restrooms close by.

Frying Pan Farm Park Visitor Center
This palce is lovely. It is a free farm where kids can discover farm animals. There is also a Playground.

Ok why a McDonalds ? Because this is the best free fast food play area of all! Just enjoy your coffee and let the kids play in the three store structure.
