The Art Institute of Chicago
I spend hours in this museum a few times a year at least! The exhibits cover all tastes and styles, with extensive collections, rotating exhibits and mutliple buildings. It's a bit confusing to navigate, but worth it to find the treasures from modern paintings to the greats like Monet, Picasso and van Gogh.

The Second City
Think SNL, but you get to be there. This comedy club is tried & true, with seasonal and long-running shows, both sketch and improv. This is where your favorites like Tina Fey, Steve Carrell, Rachel Dratch, Bonnie Hunt and Bill Murray started!

Foster Beach
This is my favorite beach to hang out at, with a low-key vibe, more space than more southern beaches, green areas to relax and hammock and a great view!

Lost Lake
This is what helps Chicagoans get through the long winter - a few summery hours at Lost Lake! The decorations and drinks feel tropical even if the weather doesn't.

North Milwaukee Avenue
This street in Wicker Park is my favorite street to spend time on. Walk along to find a variety of options - my favorites are Reckless Records, Buffalo Exchange for some new (second hand) clothes, Myopic for a maze of books or Volumes for a curated collection of fiction and amazing coffee.
