Colosseum
This is an incredible piece of architecture. For 12 Euros you get entrance to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill and is valid for 2 days. I would recommend seeing them all in the same day because they are all located in the same general area.

Roman Forum
Here you can see the ruins of different government buildings and the marketplace that existed in Ancient Rome. Definitely recommend visiting. You can use the same ticket from the Colosseum to enter the Roman Forum. I recommend doing them both on the same day as they are right next to each other.

Trevi Fountain
This is a really popular spot built in 1762 and is aqueduct-fed. It gets VERy crowded, so if you'd prefer it emptier, I would recommend getting up early and visiting around 7AM to avoid the crowds.

Pantheon
This ancient Roman temple is now a church that you can enter for free. It is a magnificent piece of architecture and amazing to see it was built in 125AD.

Spanish Steps
These steps are famous for their irregular butterfly-shaped design that was built in the 18th century. These get very crowded in the afternoon and evenings, but went there around 7AM and got to be the only person on the steps! So I would recommend going early if you want to enjoy it without the crowds. It's also located in a nice Piazza, called Piazza di Spagna.

This is one of the most ancient spots that has been preserved to see, and can be visited with the same ticket as the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

Vatican City
Sistine Chapel, St Peter's Basilica, and the Vatican Museums are all located here. If you're there on Sunday you can also come and see the Pope speak from his balcony. Get there early though because the lines are long and there is security to go through that can take long.
